Water
and Sewer
The water and sewer services in the city
of Troy are municipally owned and operated by the
city. Residential and business customers may obtain
service through City Hall, located at 200 Main Street
or by calling the business office at (636) 528-4712.
The city's water system utilizes several wells, and
it operates its own wastewater sewage treatment plant.
The water rates are $5 for the first 1000 gallon usage,
$2.00 per 1000 gallons for more than 1000, but less
than 50,000 gallons and$1.65 per 1000 gallon for more
than 50,000 gallons. The sewer-use fees are based
on water usage with the base rate being $9.82. For
residential usage, each additional thousand gallon
cost $2.07. The commercial sewer rates are broken
into classes depending on type of business. The deposit
required for new customers is $100. It is refundable
on the customer's final bill or after two years of
service if no late fees are charged.
The water bill is due upon receipt. If payment is
not made by the billing date of the following month,
service will be discontinued and a fee of $25 will
be charged before service is restored. A late fee
of $10 will also be applied to the bill if not paid
before the next billing date. Payments may be made
by mail or in the night deposit located on the side
of the city hall building.
Any problems with water or sewer are to be reported
to City Hall for prompt action. New construction hook-ups
must be approved through the city's building inspector,
and fees will be charged at that time for water and/or
sewer connections.
